Capsule Geology

The Consortium South (Red Star) occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 720 metres on a west facing slope, east of Stewart Lake.

The area is underlain by pillow basalts, basalt flows and/or breccias and undivided basalt and andesite flows of the Triassic Karmutsen Formation (Vancouver Group).

Locally, basalts host ankerite veins with sphalerite mineralization. A granitic dike is also reported in the area.

In 2018, a rock sample (34586) assayed 0.42 gram per tonne gold, 27.5 grams per tonne silver, 3.50 per cent lead and 2.99 per cent zinc (Wasteneys, H. (2018-10-30): NI 43-101 Technical Report on the Consortium Project).

Work History

In 1991, Arnex Resources completed a program of geological mapping and rock and silt sampling on the area as the Sort claims. In 2008, L.C. Greig completed a program of silt and soil sampling on the area as the BBB claims, Stewart Lake property. In 2012, M. Schuss staked the area and completed a program of prospecting and geochemical (rock and soil) sampling. In 2018, Rich River Exploration Ltd. and Fiorentina Minerals Inc. completed a program of geological mapping and geochemical (rock, silt and soil) sampling on the area as the Consortium property.
